Iñigo Plaza Cano (Madrid, 1971) Actualmente reside en Madrid
Formado
entre España y EEUU, estudió en el prestigioso Brooks Institute of
Photography de California, donde ya destacó obteniendo el premio Mayor
House of Santa Bárbara.
Desde muy temprano se forjó una
exitosa carrera con trabajos para grandes empresas nacionales e
internacionales: Kodak, Cadena Ser, Globomedia, Marc & Spencer,
Tandem DDB, Luis Nicoli o Técnicas Reunidas entre otros. En 2001 fue
galardonado con el León de Bronce del Festival de Publicidad de San
Sebastian, reconocimiento que le abrió las puertas de colecciones
privadas tan relevantes como la Fundación Santander. Sus fotografías han
sido publicadas en medios como El Mundo, El Pais Semanal, Nuevo Estilo
o Telva entre otros.
Los intereses de Iñigo se centran en la
experiencia del individuo en un espacio o estructura determinados y la
vida que éste desarrolla en dicho entorno. Fotografías de arquitectura,
espacios industriales y los retratos de las personas que habitan en
ellos. Obras de grandes dimensiones con imágenes potentes que consiguen,
a través de la solarización, piezas llenas de magnetismo con
referencias pictóricas.
Avalado por esos 25 años de
trayectoria, sus obras han sido expuestas en diversas galerías.
Asimismo, Plaza Cano ha participado en ferias de arte como Art Basel
Week, ARCO, Art Los Ángeles Contemporary, Art San Diego o CosMoscow
International Contemporary Art Fair, entre otras.
En 2008 recibió una Mención Honorífica del Premio ABC de fotografía, obra que posteriormente fue expuesta en la feria ARCO Madrid.
Iñigo Plaza Cano (Madrid, 1971) currently lives in Madrid.
He trained to become an artist in both Spain and the USA, studying at the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in California, where he already excelled obtaining the Mayor House of Santa Barbara award.
From a very early age, he developed a successful career with projects for large national and international companies: Kodak, Cadena Ser, Globomedia, Marc & Spencer, Tandem DDB, Luis Nicoli or Técnicas Reunidas, among others. In 2001 he was awarded the Bronze Lion of the San Sebastian Advertising Festival, a recognition that opened the doors of private collections as relevant as the Santander Foundation. His photographs have been published in media such as El Mundo, El Pais Semanal, Nuevo Estilo or Telva.
Iñigo's interests are focused towards the experience of the individual in a given space or structure and the life that develops in that environment. Photographs of architecture, industrial spaces and the portraits of the people who inhabit them. Large-scale works with powerful images that become, through solarization, art pieces full of magnetism with pictorial references.
With 25 years of experience, his works have been exhibited in numerous galleries. Plaza Cano has also participated in art fairs such as Art Basel Week, ARCOMadrid, Art Los Angeles Contemporary, Art San Diego or CosMoscow International Contemporary Art Fair, among others.
In 2008 he received an Honorable Mention from the ABC Photography Prize, for an art piece that was later exhibited at the ARCO Madrid fair.
